Why don't ATMs dispense food?

If you bookend ATM with an E, you get a nasty little pejorative.

That was in the book, The Furrows, which I finished this morning.

I’m now st a Catholic church near the office that has a weekly Lenten fish fry. The plate comes with fries and slaw.

Loved this when I read it this morning:

Every year, Washington Post columnist John Kelly conducts his Springtime in Washington Haiku Contest. His favorite this year is by Vicki Elsbernd:

Spring floats in softly

Like a Chinese spy balloon

Under the radar

The neighbors had a landscaper come to remove the weeds. He didn't remove them, but he did spray weed killer. Sadly, it is a breezy day. I wonder how many plants I'll lose due to the drift.

I'm trying to think of the last time I ate at a sit-down restaurant with a server. It had to be last April when I attended a meeting in L.A.

Prior to that, it would have been B.C. (Before Covid).  Probably a few years before.

I am not counting the buffet, which we go to a couple times per year, when there's no pandemic.

The fish was good. The fries were better.

I love fries that are so hot they almost burn your fingertips.

Working in the kitchen and listening to Judy Kuhn's Jule Styne album. I hadn't listened to it in - oh, 15 or more years. It's still spectacular.

I tried to start Some Like It Hot. The songs are skillfully written and well-performed, but they all sound alike, 5 tracks or so in.
