Borsch (preferred Ukrainian spelling) is a favorite. I make an excellent one. My vegetarian friends hated it whenever I made it because they couldn’t have any. The basis is stewed beef bones. It was a way of serving something meaty when you didn’t have any.

Well, here begins the last hellish day of this week. I'll be back to some semblance of normal tomorrow. There are a few annoying things to get done next week, but it'll be doable and mostly calm.
