I admire and envy people who can transcribe recordings.

I've only tried to transcribe music once, and I could only really hear the vocal parts.  I couldn't distinguish enough of the instruments to be any good at it.

I have chosen not to support Walgreens any longer, since they are caving to the far right and refusing to provide abortion medications, even in states where they are still legal.

I don't use them, and I wouldn't if I had to choose another pharmacy. :P

I received a check in the mail from my former bank for $5.64. (My old bank back in Connecticut)

I have just resigned my job and henceforth am considering myself retired.

Congrats, Singdaw!

Donald Trump has landed in New York. I honestly thought he would flee the country and head to Russia and his good friend Putin.

So did I. ::)

TOD: I like Gregory in the truly Hitchcock-esque Mirage from 1965.

My best friend from high school is back in my hometown today (Norwalk, CT), and she texted me this photo (from today) of the house I grew up in. We were at the end of a small cul-de-sac, only 7 houses on the street.

I knew a family that lived on a similar cul-de-sac, Allen Ct., not far from there.

I am glad my food allergies have improved over the years.  I can't count the number of times I have verified a food was safe to eat only to find out with the first bite that it wasn't safe.

Okay, let's try this again.

In totally useless news, I recently unearthed the sketch of my uncompleted transcription of the main title music of a highly admired motion picture. I recall doing this in 1972, from the one recording that existed on LP then. I never completed it, and except for a couple of short snippets from musicals over the years, I've never done any other real transcribing. But I was stunned to see not only how absurdly neatly I wrote it then (it looks like I was using a ruler throughout!), but how accurate I believe it actually was for a 23-yr-old DR ChasSmith. Anyhoo, for your viewing pleasure, here are all three pages. Since I didn't even write a title on it, I'll leave it that way, and some bright musically inclined person here can say what it is.  :)

Wow, nice.

Has anyone read Curtis Sittenfeld? She is said to be funny. And I can always use a few laughs.

Sir Philip played the harp, I cussed the thing
I crowned him with his harp to bust the thing
And now he plays where harps are just the thing
To keep my love alive
