I really like Rachel Maddow, but...she can be very annoying at times.  Tonight, she addressed a GOP move in Iowa to force raped women to go unaided in getting medical attention in order to prevent pregnancy from rape.  The state used to provide care for rape victims.  Now, the GOP Attorney General has apparently stopped all aid to help those women.  She stated all the things that the GOP initiative was doing to women who are raped..  She repeated it, and then re-repeated it.  Even though that poor horse had been beaten to a pulp, she pummeled it again...and again without stating anything new..  I had to change channels.  Sometimes, it's a very effective gambit.  Tonight, I found it just a bit overbearing.

Jane, I am reading a Japanese novel in honor of your trip. It doesn’t sound Japanese: Norwegian Wood. But it’s by Haruki Murakami.
