I did not realize that Alan Jay Lerner married 8 times.

Jesse Green writes that when he wrote "Love her, love her, love her," he may have perhaps been outside his wheelhouse.

Astute observation. Not usual for the likes of Mr. Green.

As I read the nigh-universal negative reviews of Camelot, the thought occurred to me that maybe this patient could never have been saved.

I would call it my favorite musical if going by sheer number of songs I love. Grew up adoring my parents’ cast album and reading the story in the gatefold and extra mini-paper flap of cast notes. Seeing tv commercials ad infinitum when Richard Burton toured it into Chicago in like 1980…

When I finally saw a production in 1985 at the Fabulous Fox theatre in ATL, starring Richard Harris, I was… underwhelmed with how the story played out. Saw a limited production at Lincoln Center many years later and it was Zzzzz.


It either needed to be like the 4-hour epic it briefly was, or none of the drama works. Now to take the songs, shoehorn in some Sorkin-isms, make up new motivations….An exercise in futility.

The one brief shining moment may exist only on the Original Cast LP on Columbia Records.

It's official, I have Keith's cold.

I read that as. “ I have Keith’s child”.

Well that’s old news I thought, and surely there are 2 of them…

I didn't have any pork seasoning, so I baked my pork chops using Beer Can Chicken seasoning.  And I baked them on a bed of sweet corn kernels.

Didn't turn out too bad.  Although I am sure the REAL chefs on HHW will shake their heads.

I’m a fake chef but I swear by Penzey’s pork chop season and cooking the chops in the air fryer.  I like to cook little new potatoes in the air fryer till they’re just getting brown and then put the pork chops on top of them while they all cook together

Ants are feeding on the Terra, so they are around, but that’s good. Want them eating and bringing the poison to the Queen. Otherwise she’ll keep making more ants.

Health update: DD is much better today, and that’s the best news. Mrs. Rodz had a bad day, but improved over the last couple hours. MIL in hospital, in pain. FIL now with Covid but home. Son doing fine, unfazed by ants.
