"Queue" has gotten a bad rap lately because of "Q."

The English, of course, are known to be the masters of queueing.

"Queueing" seems like it has too many vowels.

On Friday a friend in the Bay Area called and asked about the tax deadline. He was confused. And I was confused. But we now know the skinny: Gov Newsom postponed the tax deadline to Oct 16 for all of us affected by the severe storms, which was most of the state. And the IRS agreed to make that the deadline for Federal returns as well (!!!). It was only when I did a web search which included the word "California" that the relevant information came up. I'm sure all of you non-Californians are just thrilled to know this. But at least this one mystery has been solved.

Hmmmm.  Federal deadline is Tuesday, April 18.  In SC, that's the deadline for state taxes, too.

Wordle 666 6/6

⬜⬜🟨⬜⬜
🟩⬜⬜🟨⬜
🟩🟨⬜🟨⬜
🟩🟩🟩⬜⬜
🟩🟩🟩🟩⬜
🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩

Oh, look!  I got Wordle #666 on 6 out of 6 tries! ;)

Is that lucky?

It might be...or bad luck.  Isn't 666 the sign of the devil? ;)

I like saying it, too.

Is that your cue?

My zoom chat was odd and enervating and lasted three hours today.

We did not discuss film music.

No.  For some reason, and I'm not quite sure what it was, we began discussing beliefs in the paranormal.

As weird as that sounds, it evolved into a discussion about odd things that each of us has experienced that may not have been ghostly or supernatural, but which defied our understanding about what was happening.

And then it got into dreams and the ones that came true or gave us some sort of pre-cognitive knowledge about something.

Very strange afternoon, but each of us has had some form of unexplainable experience.

The original Broadway production of The Phantom of the Opera is no more, as of this afternoon.

It may be revived, but not in this particular physical production, and probably with the orchestra cut in half.

vixmom, I LOVE Veselka, though I haven't been there in years.

Back in the '90s and early '00s I was in the city a lot. A number of friends lived in the Vilage and East Vilage, and Veselka was one of our prime get-together places.

Must get back there. I'd appreciate it all the more now.

Starting a made-for-TV production of The Bridge of San Luis Rey with Judith Anderson, Hume Cronyn, Theodore Bikel, Viveca Lindfors, Kurt Kasner, Eva Le Galleane (sp?) and more.

Has anyone here been watching SUCCESSION? I have the impression I'm the only one not watching it.

We watch it, Jeanne. All caught up. Next week’s promises to be a doozie.

Not much change in family health. Kids and I are good. Wife down. Her parents down. I’ve been running to their house and the hospital to deliver them food and whatnot. MIL is stuck in hospital till she can get up on her own.
