Mine are all from film -- Edward B. Powell, who orchestrated for Alfred Newman; Hugo Friedhofer, who did early-in-his-career orchestrations for Charlie Chaplin and Max Steiner; Conrad Salinger, who gave the MGM musicals their unique sound, Maurice de Packh, who orchestrated for Max Steiner on "King Kong" and many other films; Murray Cutter, who orchestrated for Steiner; Leon Raab; Ray Heindorf; Herbert Spencer and Arthur Morton, both of whom worked with many composers in the 60s through the 80s, but primarily for John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith.  There was also Leo Shuken and Jack Hayes, who did splendid work for several composers, including Elmer Bernstein and Marvin Hamlisch.

But in searching the Innerwebs about it, I discovered that you can purchase a box o' candy from the year you were born. Just type in "Retro Candy 19XX" in Amazon's search box. It ain't cheap, but it might be fun. And spark reminiscences. My mother's birthday is later this month, so I just ordered a box from her year of birth.

As soon as Zoom was over, I went to bed, vand I slept quite well. Stella spent most of the night lying beside me; Annabelle currently prefers to sleep on the kitty quilt at the foot of the bed, and Thatch sleeps in my computer chair. Around 4:30 Annabelle decided she was cold enough to crawl under the blankets to get warm. She was immediately followed by Thatch, who only stayed a moment. When the alarm rang, I had a kitty frenzy of three cats romping about noisily.
