TCB's review of Sami showed up on Amazon late last night. Here it is: "What a delightful surprise! A new series on Prime Video called SAMI. The tital character, Sami, played by Sami Staitman (a knockout performer), plays a young lady living and working in New York and trying to land a Broadway show. She goes through "temp" jobs, unusual auditions, and a Facebook commercial that she may never live down. Filmed in New York and L.A., the show is light and funny and features a lot of familiar faces. In addition to Ms. Staitman, the show features Kerry O'Malley, Karim Hazime, and in what may be her final performance, the great Cindy Williams as Grandma. This all too brief series features Sami singing some wonderful new songs written by the show's creator and director, Bruce Kimmel. The song, "Simply" sung by Sami is a total showstopper. I hope this is just the beginning of more and more episodes to come. Five stars doesn't seem like nearly enough. Bravo!"
And yes, he was family. I remember him asking me way back in 2006 if I was interested in him coming here to play General Mills in The Brain and of course I said yes, but he couldn't manage the trip. I know he would have been terrific. I'm grateful we got to meet in person and dine when I did a book signing up there, which was the last time I saw Ann, too, I think.
