Had a really fun meal with the Wechters at CPK in Encino. I think that will be my last time going there - they've now removed thirteen items from their menu, including the roasted garlic chicken pizza, the one thing I get there. Instead, I had the spaghetti bolognese which we pretty bad - for a meat sauce there was about an eighth of an ounce of meat. And not very tasty. And they tell you right on the menu that somehow this four ounces of pasta with a runny red sauce with almost no meat is 900 calories. I'm guessing it was more like 500.

The extras included some interesting MovieTone bits. One was a clip of Anne Baxter receiving her Oscar from Lionel Barrymore. Another showed the stars and Brenda Frazier.

Now starting something potentially odd. Hi Diddle Diddle. Starring Adolphe Menjou, Martha Scott, Pola Negri, Billie Burke, June Havoc, Dennis O’Keefe. At 71 minutes, it won’t overstay its welcome.
