Took Mrs Rodz and the little Skis to a bird sanctuary for a Mother’s Day hike. Then we ate at Milestone’s, a good Canadian chain. Twas a lovely day.

I will be sure to let you know, DR Jane. Of course, the prime "candy" age would have been when she was around 10, and since we were just coming out of WWII, candy was probably in quite short supply.
Loved this memory that one of his friends posted: One memory is at college where he was a DJ on the college radio station. I was visiting one evening and at midnight he was supposed to play the Star-Spangled Banner and go off air. We could not find the tape, so we sang the song together over the air. He could certainly sing, I could certainly not.
