I imagine the working lot among us are jubilant about tomorrow being Friday. I remember Thursdays being days of joy while working. Just one more day.

Of course, that day -- the next one, that is -- the FRIDAY -- was not always perfect, but it WAS the last day of the work week.

I sort of miss that "Oh, boy! Tomorrow is Friday!" euphoria.

Now, I am happy if I can remember that it IS Friday.

That's not to say I am not compos mentis. I simply do not measure my days into a work week and then a weekend.

I have no work goals to accomplish before the end of a work day or work week.

Sigh. Who knew retirement would be, in some ways, discombubulating?

Yes, I ponder such things.

But I am by no means regretful of being a retiree.

Not. One. Bit.

My mom told me I needed to find a job of some kind. Something to occupy my mind a day or two a week. Not for money, though. For structure. For routine.

She was probably right, but I am stubborn. I may one day seek out such a structure for my sanity, but it is not this day!!
