Back -- from what turned out to be a truly gripping reading of the play. The six women, two of which I already knew, were wonderful actors. And the real treat was meeting their director Diana Canova who shaped that performance, and who is absolutely CHARMING. What a wonderful lady. Of course I told her we have a mutual friend in BK and she was surprised and delighted to hear that. I know she's done a lot with kids here over the years, but I really hope she will continue now working with adults. This was exceptional.

Playing on TCM right now is the film of "A Chorus Line".

I thought perhaps my reaction to it might be different after all these years, but....alas...alack...ack-ack!

I did see the revival pre-Broadway and it was dazzling. Nothing in the movie comes remotely close to a well-staged version.
