I saw it at a sneak preview just before it came out, at the Village Theater. Only - I didn't see it at the Village. I think I got it confused with Capricorn One. In fact, I saw Parallax the Friday before it opened at the theater it opened at - the Pantages. Not only that, it was one of the few times in those days when in the ad it said a new film starring Warren Beatty, rated R. I think 1974 was the year that began happening every now and then. I found a bunch of movies where they told the stars (never the title, though) - Claudine, Badlands, Mame, were three I found. It would get worse as the 1970s progressed.

I remember seeing the trailer for Capricorn One at the Crown Theater in Crown Point, Indiana. The question is what movie were we seeing that night. My guess is Oh God!

Jeez, for a minute I thought my brain really had crashed - I found an ad for the preview of Capricorn One the week before it came out on June 2, 1978 (NOT 1977 as the imdb would have it - they put December of 1977 as its release date and say it came out in Japan - well, really? Not a Japanese film and I doubt it was even finished by then). And yes, while they didn't have the title in the almost full page preview ad, they did have the graphic and ad line. And it was at the National. How could I be that off? But then I went back to April, two months before the release and voila - preview at the Village. The same kind of ad but no graphic - just the ad line. So, whew, and glad my memory is still mostly working. Interestingly, both previews were in 70mm.

We did Act Two twice and it was most enjoyable.

The director also gave me a direction - so I took it to the nth degree and he fell off his chair laughing.....I think it stays in.
