It smells like smoke outside.

Will water the plants on the balcony, then stay indoors today.

We are under a Code Red alert. Hazardous air, due to the wildfires in Canada.

We seem to be in a sweet spot as far as getting all that Canadian wildfire smoke is concerned. We can certainly see the effects of it, but it's nothing like it's been in NYC one hour to the south.
I’m glad the air is better where you live, DR Chas.
Vibes it stays that way.

Well, I blew it. I put the wrong appointment time in my calendar, and as a result I screwed up my scheduled Access-a-Ride trips. So, at 5:30 this morning I cancelled AAR for today, and I just rebooked today's appointment for tomorrow. I need to call AAR now and rebook those trips.
DR Elmore, hopefully the air quality will improve by tomorrow.
Today is a good day to stay indoors.

Having now gone out to the store and back and being outside for a few minutes, I have to take that back. We were showing lighter than the areas to the south and out west of us on the maps yesterday, but I expect I'll find things different when I check again in a few minutes.

The whole area now smells like a neighbor has a good fire going in the fireplace or in a wood pit, it's very "overcast", and I can see an orange-ish or pink-ish tint wherever the sunlight (what there is of it) is hitting something white, like white tiles.

Of course, the nice fireplace smell is everywhere, not just here in the neighborhood where, on some other day, it could indeed have been a neighbor.

On the TCM Fan Page on Facebook, yesterday, Dora Epstein wrote:

Finally a Judy Garland movie I liked.  The Clock!!   She did not sing .. her voice just doesn't agree with my ears.  Haha.  Great actress.

I replied:

So terribly sorry for you because of your defective ears.

And then some Karen replied:

Shelly Lyn Marshall
Ron Pulliam wow. Not nice. Just because some of us do not prefer Judy and Liza's voices does not mean our audio receptors are defective. Sounds which one perceives as overly or pleasing are subjective, not objective. You seem old enough to understand both this concept as well as the one Thumper's mother shared in the movie "Bambi." You may need to pull the clip for a refresher.

I responded to her by saying:

Terribly sorry, Shelly Lyn, for your zero sense of humor.

Was I wrong?

Ron, I laughed.  Most people don't understand a dry sencse of humor, especially without a laughing emoji or wink.

Except here, of course.         8)

Well, there are some things that are simply BEGGING to be made fun of...like someone just popping out with how they don't like the 20th century's greatest singer because her ears just don't tolerate the sound of her voice.

Defective ears can be the ONLY excuse!
