I’d totally forgotten Medium! Was VERY into it the first season. My memory is it kinda goes downhill quickly or the formula gets old. Or maybe I just lost interest? You tell me what you think as you go, Ron.

The actual lady the series was based on made a coupe of appearances in, I think, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She was a complete self-centered bitch.

I read about that on Wikipedia entry on her.

I recall DR Laura talking a bit about her since they live in the same city.

Conversations With Jack Episode 24.  I talk with Brad about his upcoming auditions for Anything Goes.

You can see some of the front porch of the theeder and the small barn in the back where we did our shows outdoors for two years, although the stage & bleachers are gone.

Brad is married to my cousin Lita, director of GREASE.  He is a really good guy.  He taught grade school for several years, got his Masters and moved into administration, but he missed the kids so much, he went back to the classroom and now teaches first grade.

He is a great teacher, actor, director, and cousin in law.  It was a very windy day....but you get the idea.

Cornac McCarthy has died. I liked some of his writing. Need to read more, but his books are bleak.

Love a local talk show. Add a side man and a band, and you'll be pretty much set for prime time.

I received an annoying email this moring about Moonshine & Mistletoe. I must respond, although I'd just as soon ignore it. I'm stpll pissed that I thought the recording would be released in time for last year's holiday sales, and it's nearly a damned year later now.

Darn.  That's too bad, Larry.  Hopefully, something good will happen soon!

My TV watching has taken a turn toward the past.

I have discovered that Amazon Prime has the complete series "Medium".  It was a huge favorite of mine back when it first appeared on NBC in 2005.

I have devoured Season 1.  The writing is so good, and the casting was perfection.   It's unique to me because it's about a woman with a family (husband and three girls) who uses a gift she has tried to avoid to build a career helping the DA of her city.

What's unique about it is the familial relations at play...the husband, extremely well-played by Jake Weber, is the loving husband, doting father, but extremely rational and concerned about how his wife's job impacts their relationship and their family.

Roseanna Arquette is wonderful as Allison Dubois.  The little girls are adorable, but precocious and annoying and quirky.

The cases Allison assists with are fascinating.

The show's first episode, and final episode of Season 1, features a very interesting and refreshing character:  A Texas Ranger played by the talented Arliss Howard.   The last episode of Season 1 is a "To Be Continued" episode that starts Season 2.

It's so strange to me that this series was all that many years ago.  All the "little girls" are grown women with families of their own now.  Sofia Vassilieva was the eldest, Maria Lark the next. I don't recall who played the baby, but she grew during the show's run of seven seasons.

I have never seen another show in which the husband and wife had so many scenes in their bed...where Allison has her disturbing dreams, where the little girls run in and and jump in with them on weekend mornings....where the dramas of the day play out in adult discussions that always serve the story.  There is adult intimacy but always in the framework of a healthy, contentious at times, relationship based in love and family.

I remember watching (and enjoying) this show, too.  But it starred Patricia Arquette, not Roseanna. :)
