Act Two went well....we spent a half an hour playing with the device that worked remarkably well.

Some blocking has changed....but that's okay....

Tonight during what the director calls "chaos" - everyone is wandering around the stage before the act starts....doing scripted and unscripted things.

I was looking at props.  Suddenly Grant - the very handsome young actor came up and started giving me performance notes.  I said "WHAT?"....and he kept it up.....I was very perturbed with him and gave him a very hard time.

He had tears in his eyes....and he said:  "I'm doing chaos."

I was mortified, his character is the director of Murder At Havisham Manner.....

I finally realized what he was doing.  I apologized....but I am going to buy him a nice bag of candy to make up for it.

I have started watching season 1 of a newish procedural from Britain.  It's on both BritBox and Amazon Prime.

It is called "Beyond Paradise", and it stars Kris Marshall as a DI who moves to Devon and immediately gets drawn into strange and wonderful human doings that combine dry wit and intelligent writing/plotting.

It is a spin-off of the show "Death in Paradise" in which the character DI Humphrey Goodman was first introduced in that show's third season in 2014 and he played that character until 2017, after which he, the actor, left the show to spend more quality time with his family.

This time, DI Goodman and his fiancee have moved to Devon where he is in an office with two others plus a receptionist named Margo.

I like it.  I really like it.  The first season seems to be 10 episodes which began airing in February this year.

A second season has been ordered, so it's worth an investment of time if you like British procedurals with an oddly quirky bent.

Is this show scripted, or do they just hand you a suggested plot line and you make it up as you go?

Well the "chaos" just has suggested things that the actors talk about...the crew is still working on the set, the actors are looking for a dog that has gone missing, everyone just does general mucking about.

Then the director chases us all offstage so he can give his curtain speech.

Glad to hear that DR JANE got that restaurant straightened out!

It is our favorite Thai restaurant.   We really should have returned last week.

I loved the series, though the final shot, was a surprise. Molly in trousers? Not likely.

But still a nice touch.

“Wendy Rush, the wife of Stockton Rush, the OceanGate chief executive who was piloting the submersible that disappeared Sunday during a dive to the Titanic wreckage, is a descendant of two first-class passengers who died when the ocean liner sank in 1912, archival records show.

Ms. Rush is a great-great-granddaughter of the retailing magnate Isidor Straus and his wife, Ida, two of the wealthiest people aboard the Titanic for its first voyage. Mr. Straus, born in 1845, was a co-owner of Macy’s department store.”

Incredible. Just read this in the NY Times.

After the finale when the cast came out for curtain calls we were still laughing so hard we were literally weak, I was clutching my sides and trying not fall off my chair.
