OH!!!

Nick - the guy I'm subletting from and who was the Hero in DR Ant's recent production of Forum - is about to start rehearsals for The Full Monty at Gateway Playhouse out on Long Island.  Well...

They did a promo shoot the other day, and if you click below you can see Nick - he's second in from the right - as well as the rest of cast.

Enjoy!

You've been warned!

In my CD player here at work:  Melissa Errico's "Blue Like That."  After that will be Guy Haines' new CD, "New Guy In Town" then Guy Haines' first CD, "Haines His Way," which was, of course, the inspiration for the name of this here site, www.haineshisway.com!! ;D

DR Jose, I guess it's just coincidence that the current children's production at Gateway is called The Mammoth Follies!

I'm sorry, but I will probably be E&T for most of the weekend.  I am shooting an episode of MTV's HIGH SCHOOL STORIES: SCANDALS, PRANKS, CONTROVERSIES.  I am the mean high school principal.  I will drop in when I can.

Wow!  Me on MTV!

OMG I know what you mean about kids and the Scooby Doo movies.  I had to sit and hear Scooby Doo the sequel played 5 times in a row (with a 5 yr old).  That, and he watched Garfield the movie 4 times (which i kind of like).  Kids are nuts!

Cool link, Jane. According to that site, the place closed mainly because nearby construction made it impossible for people to get to it.

That surprised me.  I don’t remember having problems parking.  Bruce do you?

re: big brother6

I was not happy that maggie won, although i had a feeling she would win. For some reason they seem to make it so this happens.

I'm sure she will nominate kaysar and james.

I really hate seeing them avenge eric's "death". And i hate seeing ivette and april and others dancing around with glee.

Jose, thanks for thinking of me.  I like brownies  but I can quickly bake some anytime I want.  As much as I want almond macaroons I don’t really need them.  ;D I can also wait until I’m in NY for them.

Hisaka thank you for the beautiful photos of Godzilla.  I will share them with Keith later today.

Matt H, I’m guessing Michael Shayne’s new avatar is the cover from a Michael Shayne detective story.

I hope TCB is having a great time!

DRMichael Shayne, I would recommend SWEPT AWAY for your anime selection:  interesting film and the score is quite lovely.

DRTCB, this is such neat news about MTV!  I can't wait to see you in action.

What could possibly be ON the Willison mystery tape?

And will it have to be baked?

And then I came home to find my BLACK NARCISSUS DVD waiting for me. Hooray! I may put it in instead of THE WOMAN IN RED even though I just watched it a week ago.

It has been heaven today. Overcast, cool (72 degrees right now), not very humid. Made running into and out of stores not a chore at all.

As I've said on several occasions when the subject of PIPPIN has come up, "On the Right Track" is my favorite song from the score, and when I watch the PIPPIN video, it's always my favorite moment of the show and the moment I will replay (that and "No Time at All") several times.

But since I had THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW cued up, I watched more of those episodes this afternoon. The episode where Rhoda redecorates Mr. Grant's living room: one of the all-time classic episodes.

I am listening to a record of John Barry's fantastic score to Robin and Marian which I happened to catch on TCM the other night and fell in love with all over again...both the score and the movie.

I think I might try to watch THE 300 SPARTANS this weekend.

I'm reading STAND & DELIVER an history about highwaymen.

BK, THE POGUES is an Irish Rock Group.  Their full name is POGUE MA HONE...which, in Gaelic, means "Kiss my ass...or arse, as they might say over there.  Yes, "pogue", in Gaelic, means "kiss"!

Just a reminder that CBS is showing the pilot to VERONICA MARS tonight followed by another episode of the show, just to introduce folks who haven't already gotten into it about its virtues. It's been pretty much embraced by the entire critical community, so I will tune in to see what all the shouting's about.
