When the DH gets calls for "Mrs ____" he just replies, "I'm sorry; we've had to put mother in a home."

LOL.

Another movie response could be:  "She can't come to the phone now.  She went to s**t and the hogs ate her!"

The last sentence is from "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore".  Apologies for the crudeness.

For the worse

3 is bad?

It’s a different strategy. Plus, Quordle is timed.

I meant to say it yesterday, but DR Elmore reminds me:

People no longer care what they say on the phone. As representatives of a business, they should know what they’re talking about. But they often don’t, and they too often just say something that will end the call so they can move on to the next. They’re rarely identifiable (even when you do recall the name of whomever you spoke with), and they’re not held accountable.

Truth!

Good Morning.  Dress rehearsal went well last night - except for the banjo player.... there's always one.  There was a point where no one came in at the right place for a certain song.  Some even asked if we "weren't singing there anymore" - My favorite was "When does the music start?  What line?"  I simply replied "The music starts when the music starts" - I may have said that several times in the conversation.  Truthfully, the music has been starting at the same place for weeks now - because I start the music!!   This cast has a really bad habit of listening to other people for cues when they should be listening to the actual music.  Anyway, I digress.... it's a good show.  I hope people like it.

TOD:
Freud, which I have in a vinyl pressing on a label called Citadel in the ‘70s because it never got a legit release in its time. No idea the legitimacy of Citadel’s sourcing. I thought it was more or less a no-frills bootleg label, but Discogs says it was owned by Varèse who eventually put out the CD version.

Maybe BK knows what Citadel was.

BK’s seen “Coffee Break”? I always hated the cut from the movie. I mean if they had to cut for time, that number made sense. But the way they did it is so bad. It’s obviously building up to the number and then it just doesn’t happen. Like they literally just sliced it out.
Still shows up on the Soundtrack LP.

"Bless your heart" in my experience was sort of alternate way of saying, "Oh you poor thing." Could be said with added condescension to indicate someone thinks you did/said something daft or foolish.

BUT, it could also be used in a sweet way like you come in from the rain dripping wet and your aunt is like "Bless your heart!"

Professional in the sense they are paid.  But like most community theatre pits, most have other jobs.  However, the talent pool is good and they all play very well.  I’ve forgiven quite a lot on the banjo part, because it’s a bear, but I have a hard time forgiving the lack of good musicianship.  It’ll be fine.

I take "no problem" in a nice way in which it is usually intended. Someone saying that helpful thing you did was no big deal and they were happy to help.

If I was running a 5-star hotel or restaurant, I would not instruct my staff to say it as it sounds a bit casual, but otherwise, I've never actually heard that it was impolite or implied anything negative.
