Rain - which means the grass I cut yesterday will start growing again immediately.

DR JANE with my push mower it would usually take about 2 hours and 20 minutes to mow the front, back, and side yards.

TOD:

The one person I'd like to see again, and haven't seen in about 50 years, is Eddie Brock, who I knew from 3rd grade through my college years.  We were never close friends, but he always greeted me as one, and I always felt a kinship toward him.

I am sorry to learn that Marcus D'Amico has died. I had seen him in a Jeeves & Wooster episode, and I'm happy he stayed busy.

TOD:
Would like to see my childhood pal Tad, who moved to Indianapolis after 4th grade, which, at the time, was like moving to the moon, as far as we were concerned. He went on to have a little music career and played touring bass with the Cowsills, so we did reconnect once at BB King’s in Times Square.

It's a dark dreary rainy Monday morning - which is fine by me today - and I just spent it having a nice slow start to the week.

It's actually remarkable that it IS a dark dreary rainy morning AND a Monday, since most of that dear drear rain this summer has been on the weekends, followed by sunny, clear Mondays. So this is the way it should properly be.

Good Morning.  Monday after opening weekend, would be lovely to hang out at home, however - JP (my one year old) is getting neutered today, so it was off to the vet we went at 8:00am.  So, I decided to go to school and get started prepping things that need to be prepped before the kids get her in 2 weeks!!!

I do have a question, I'm looking to listen to a recording of The Merry Widow - can anyone suggest a good recording to listen to?

In The Grass Is Greener I never understood how Mitchum charmed Kerr.

DR Rodzinski, are their cousins on the island for your children to play with?

There are no complete English recordings, but I do have a complete 1958 BBC radio broadcast of a Sadlers Wells Opera performance starring the great June Bronhill, dialogue and score. If you'd like it, I'm happy to send it.

There are a couple of excellent German recordings. These two are both excellent and offer the complete score.

This English recording with Reardon and Della Casa is not complete but the translation is wonderful and the recording is excellent.

Today has been absolutely gorgeous, so far, but...I am getting weather alerts that we are going to have a hellacious storm from 5-10 p.m.

It's possible.  Sometimes we get the storm, and sometimes it hits neighboring towns but not Johnston.  I don't want "hellacious", but we have had a lot of rain and the town is lush and green.
