The gas repor:

We'd hit a sudden high of $3.62 a few days ago (that was up from the $3.32-$3.37 range it had been in for a while), then I saw yesterday it had just as suddenly dropped back to $3.56.

I am really sorry I wasn't invited to this Sweeney Todd-themed wedding.

I watched Red, White & Royal Blue.

It wasn't awful.....it was entertaining....and there were some funny lines.....

"Oh yes.....that's covered in what....oh yes....Article Zero of the Constitution......"

The writing and the CGI kind of let us down.....and a few performances were - well - but it was fun.  If you're interested in the subject it's not the WORST way to spend a couple of hours.  Just not memorable.

That’s what I was fearful of.

I watched it as well.  Entertaining was the right word.  Story got old really quick.

From DR George:

Good Morning!  I guess I'll be going into work this morning.  <yawn>. I am really not looking forward to going back to school this year.  I've really enjoyed my days at home with my boys.  Speaking of which, DD JP is doing well.  Maybe a day or so left with the donut and the pen and he'll be a free little boy again.

TOD:  Lately, I've been watching broadcasts of past Tony Awards.  They don't make them like they used to.  Such creativity went into those early broadcasts.  I can say that about a lot of things, though...

Here is a shot of the interior of the Beinecke Rare Book Library on the campus of Yale University. On a sunny day, the light filters through the marble walls.

Cool.  I suspect the photo doesn't do it justice.

The rare books themselves are housed in a multi-story glass cube enclosed in the center of the interior of the building:

I would like to see this library.  I should ask Keith if he has been there.

And, if a fire is detected, a warning blares, giving folks a fixed amount of time to exit before all of the oxygen is immediately sucked out of the stack.

WOW.

A stained glass desk! Pretty, but probably not very practical.

Yes, it is pretty but not for a desk.

I just finished No. 37, and I've booked Access-a-Ride for tomorrow's trip to the Chinatown Medicaid office. Hopefully, it will be a successful venture.

Modern major miracle vibes for MR BK!
Sorry to hear that DR JANE lost her popper and DR GINNY lost some pitchers.....

I expect our popper is easier to replace than DR Ginny's pitchers.  It is just frustrating it didn't last longer.

Last night we watched Further Tales of the City. It wasn't bad, but it could have been better. It's very faithful to the book, but it seemed sloppy and a bit tired.Since the next book in Maupin's series dealt with Jon Fielding's death, among others, from AIDS, I think they were right to go no further into the 1980s.

Thanks, DR Jane.  Kids come next Monday - I'm sure that will change my attitude completely - for the better, of course

I concur with the previous assessments of Red, White & Royal Blue (Oxford comma conspicuously absent).

It was fun, but nothing to write home about. There is eye candy, however.

I saw a copy of the book with a movie tie-in cover. No Oxford comma there either.

Has anyone else read the book? It was totally charming.
