Finishing up Ann Beattie’s book of short stories (actually a couple of novellas, my ASS), Onlookers. It’s a wonderful look at liberals in the Charlottesville area during covid and in the aftermath of the Unite the Right rally. Really good stuff. Unflinching portrait of the recent past, the bewildering legacy of Trump and more.
