I had to buy one of those. I've used it once, but it was on the dishwasher, not one of the toilets. Glad I've got in on hand just in case.

Fortunately, I have never needed a snake for any of my pipes...so far.

Today, I helped my sister take down the foam pad on top of my niece's chicken's shelter.

The reason that there was foam on top of the shelter is because it used to be under a walnut tree and when the walnuts fell off the tree, they would hit the metal roof and scare the crap out of the chickens.

So, my sister had the idea of putting foam floor pads on the roof to help muffle the sound.

So, we took it all down and tried to retape it all together with some fresh duct tape, but it was too much of a hassle when we tried to put it all back up on top of the shelter.

But after helping my sister's boyfriend with trimming a couple of large branches off the apple tree (for whatever reason), we had the idea of just getting some tarps to cover the shelter and that would help with the rain leakage since they no longer had to worry about walnuts falling on the metal roof of the shelter.

And even though the foam padding helped muffle the sound of the rain, I would think that the tarp would be enough of a sound dampener for the rain.

So, my sister gave me her Home Depot credit card, and I went to Home Depot and got a couple of tarps that can be put on the top of the chicken shelter.

I got two 10'x12' tarps (the shelter is about 12'x12/), and they'll overlap and be able to keep out the rain.

I didn't get bigger tarps because there would be too much excess tarp to have to deal with, so I suggested that the bottom edge of the under tarp would be at the bottom edge of the shelter, and then the upper edge of the upper tarp would be attached at the upper edge of the shelter, and the overlap would prevent water from getting into the shelter.

By the time I went to Home Depot and got the tarps, it was pretty much the hottest part of the day and we were all very hot and tired.
