Labor Day greetings!  We have been busy since Wednesday evening when Charlotte, Hannah, and their parents arrived.  They left about an hour ago and our house is too, too quiet.

You had a good long visit with them.

Beauty Bar

"In 1995, two guys approached an elderly woman who had owned a beauty salon for quite some time and offered to take over her space. She agreed, upon learning that her 1930s décor would remain. To this day, Beauty Bar has stayed true to its original character. Hair dryers from the 1950s and 1960s and barbershop chairs line the walls. Even manicures are offered nightly, but the rest is all about being a bar. And there is a back room where they have comedy nights, burlesque shows and DJs with dancing. The owners described the mix of people who frequent the bar as everyone from tourists to neighborhood regulars, gay to straight, and cross dressers to guys in business suits. In short, everyone."

Just back from a 90-minute class to start working on on what we got yesterday.

My nephew, the French horn player, just called. He’s joining the Marine Corps band, if he passes his drug test.

He tells me he’s been studying for that.

He also told me that he’s getting married to his girlfriend of five years.

They’ll have a civil ceremony this month and a reception next May.

So, some happy news.

I wonder if he’ll like the Marine Corps.

I started doing dishes.
