One good thing about apples is that they don't make you go through a lot of drama about whether they're ripe or not.

Unlike some other fruits I could mention.

Aging gracefully has its drawbacks.

I am NOT currently in the barber's chair, because I was forced to cancel my appointment.

Forced, you say?  Well...obliged/obligated to do so.

Why?

Well you may ask!!!

I started out at 10 a.m.   I made a deposit at the bank.

I then drove to the recycling center and offloaded a ton of cardboard.

I had ample time left to return to Johnston and check my mail (my haircut was for 11 a.m.).

Enroute, I stopped at the cemetery and removed the urn (and very tired flower arrangement) on my folks' grave.

I picked up mail and returned to my car.

It was that moment that I realized I did not have my wallet.

What?  Unheard of.  I ALWAYS have my wallet.  I checked the car thoroughly, retraced my steps into and out of the post office (no one else had been there while I was there).  I then returned home to see if I had somehow FORGOTTEN (???) to pick it up on my way out the door.

My memory of what I did before leaving was of me checking my wallet and ensuring I had ample cash for my ambitions to get my haircut, have lunch and stop for produce.  I did have ample cash.

I raced around the house looking to see if I had carelessly left my wallet on some surface.

Nothing.  I got back into my car and went back to the cemetery to see if it might have fallen out of my pocket...but it was nowhere in sight.  Then to  the recycling center with similar non-results.

I called and cancelled my haircut.

Dejected, I returned home pondering just how much work was ahead of me cancelling ATM and credit cards, replacing insurance cards, my driver's license, my military retiree ID card, my SSN card...in short, MY LIFE.

I got home and retraced my steps once again...looking hither, thither and even yon.

I sat down to my laptop a bit dejected.  I decided I had to notify my creditors and turned on my laptop.  A towel I use to clean my screen partially blocked my keyboard.

When I removed the towel, THERE was my wallet!  Holy Smokes!  Heavens to Betsy!  Holy Cow!

Relieved I am.

Every single item in my wallet will now be photographed, scanned and preserved in various locations for future such occurrences.

My barber graciously rescheduled me for 1 p.m.

Whew!  Glad you found your wallet, Ron!  Been there, done that!!

If folks from Liverpool are called Liverpudlians, what are folks from Deadpool called?

I'm wearing pink Converse today.  Several girls asked why my shoes were pink - I told them that pink is cool.  One person said I should be wearing blue shoes....

Some people's children. ::)

Well, darn.  On Wednesday, I ordered some eclipse glasses just in case a bit of the eclipse could be seen from the environs of Tumwater, and they were supposed to arrive today.

Anyway, it hadn't even shipped yet, so I was able to cancel the order with no charge.

If I had thought about it earlier, I would've ordered them earlier.  That's on me. ::)

Maybe you can order the x-ray glasses instead. You could see DR Jrand73's underwear.
