I wish people on news programs were more aware of self-editing.
On the "Morning Joe" show, Joe, himself, is seemingly incapable of asking a simple question without going on and on about remotely related thoughts that won't impact the interviewee's answer.
He is not alone, of course. Many news people laboriously ask questions that would have me, as an interviewee, asking for a repeat of the cogent question because I would have lost track of what it actually was.
And there are folks they interview who provide interesting commentary which then devolve into unnecessary dissection of their thought processes which bore the crap out of me.
On "Morning Joe", I am always happy when Willie Geist is on because he keeps it simple. He is on target with his questions and generally can stop a reponder, gently, from going off on tangents,
Mika generally gets Joe to shut up, but only occasionally.
