At the Philly airport, nobody used the cellphone lot. Even though it was most convenient and had a board showing arrivals. Instead they’d park on the shoulder of the road into the airport. Most unseemly.

When I got off the road from I-5 and got onto the road that heads into the airport, there were SO many cars parked along the road that I wondered if there was an accident or was the cell phone lot filled!

The line of cars had to have been more than a quarter of a mile!   Fortunately, I was able to park in the lot.

We took the kids trick or treating yesterday in Tsawwassen, the neighbor town over the border. Most kids go to a certain neighborhood by the beach so those houses get hundreds of kids. Knowing this, many other neighborhoods people turn off their lights and have no candy. But the people in those neighborhoods who *do* participate end up dumping a ton of candy on kids to get rid of it. So even though we hit maybe a dozen houses, the kids got a lot. It’s a warped set of incentives illustrating Halloween in late-stage capitalism.
