Listening to Vikingur Olafsson's new recording of the Bach Goldberg Variations.

My, he takes some of the movements even faster than on Glenn Gould's original recording, which was already lightning-fast.

Have fun with DR WFO at the cinema, DR vixmom. I'd like to partake as well, but I don't think I'm going to make it.

Six years ago today, I attended a cat adoption to find Annabelle a little brother. It was at a Petco ten blocks up Broadway at 92nd Street. The adoption began at 2:00, and by 3:00 I had discovered and filled out adoption forms for a 3-month old baby named Thatch. Five days later, I traveled to northern Manhattan to bring him home. It was followed by a month of hell and a period of debate over returning him, but our DR Laura was a constant source of encouragement./ Everything she predicted about Thatch came true, and I would now die before giving him up.

Happy Anniversary, Larry!!

Coffee Crisp madness! During one of my job interviews with potential coworkers they were quite fascinated by the idea of Coffee Crisps. I intimated that if hired, I would send some.

I did indeed receive a job offer. I pushed for a little more money. They budged a little bit. Not much. But I think I’ll take the gig after I get a few answers to a few questions on Monday.

Congratulations!  Is there room for growth and for better raises?

Nine or ten is an unusual age to have read Working.  DR Rodzinski I am guessing someone in your house purchased the book and you picked it up.

I just finished listening again to John Wilson's new Oklahoma! recording. I haven't seriously listened to it since it first arrived in September. I like hs cast even better this time around, although Louise Dearman's inability to sing "cain't" correctly drives me crazy. And this is why it isn't a perfect recording.

TOD:

Maestro
Oppenheimer

I would have added A Haunting in Venice if I hadn't already seen it this week.

It is easily the best of the three Christie-inspired adaptations (loose) that Branagh has done.  Production values are superb.   The supporting cast is wonderful.

However, Branagh is not now, has never been, and never will be acceptable to me as "Hercule Poirot".  His French accent is a bit odd, too.

And why on earth it was necessary to make Ariadne Oliver (Agatha Christie's literary alter ego) an AMERICAN is beyond me.  The essence of her character has been altered, as well.  Tina Fey is good, but she's not Ariadne Oliver to me.   All in all, if Branagh had changed the names of the two leads, all would have been well for me.

I hate Kenneth Branagh's ego.

I'm so glad Thatch worked out, Elmore. It just took him a long time to trust people.

States that vote, or pass bills, to stay on Daylight Saving should simply opt not to go on Daylight Saving Time as that option is permitted.

The mix I used for the gluten-free item (the only thing I make from a mix, so I don't make a mistake) contained a small can of blueberries.
