Beyond that, it's a gamble.

Speaking of baked goods...

DR Laura, have you considered making "Santa's Trash" cookies?

It is a glorious 64 degrees here.

All of my neighbors are blowing, raking, and otherwise interfering with their leaves.

I am doing nothing.

Nice.

Two more B I G trash bags of stuff have been eliminated from The Closet....along with one small bag.

Good for you!!

I’d planned to spend part of today tossing more of my late neighbor’s stuff, but I’m just not in the mood.    I do find that it helps to be in the mood to toss. Otherwise, things get moved around, but don’t actually go OUT. This stuff needs to go out — Goodwill or trash, but out.

I agree, a good mood is necessary plus a burt of energy.

I just put a pumpkin bread into the oven, which will take an hour to bake. So I can sit down a few minutes. Well, and clean up the kitchen for the next round.

Yum.

I've made gluten-free blueberry muffins, zucchini muffins, apple muffins, and a pumpkin bread for the morning session.

For the afternoon session I'll make some brownies, chocolate zucchini mini-loaves, and some snickerdoodles. And I need to make the sugar-free thing, too.

Wow.  I can no longer bake like that.

I was going to begin reading Kritzer World last night.  I haven't been feeling great lately and decided to wait until I feel better before I read it.

Has anyone seen "Fellow Travelers" on Showtime?

I no longer have Showtime. :-\

I didn't make the chocolate zucchini mini loaves. I figured the brownies would be enough chocolate.

I think I'll skip the Santa's trash cookies. The vegan who comes to meetings finds something wrong with everything.

I made ants on a log once. Celery, peanut butter, and raisins. It wasn't good enough.

TOD:

Maestro
Oppenheimer

I would have added A Haunting in Venice if I hadn't already seen it this week.

It is easily the best of the three Christie-inspired adaptations (loose) that Branagh has done.  Production values are superb.   The supporting cast is wonderful.

However, Branagh is not now, has never been, and never will be acceptable to me as "Hercule Poirot".  His French accent is a bit odd, too.

And why on earth it was necessary to make Ariadne Oliver (Agatha Christie's literary alter ego) an AMERICAN is beyond me.  The essence of her character has been altered, as well.  Tina Fey is good, but she's not Ariadne Oliver to me.   All in all, if Branagh had changed the names of the two leads, all would have been well for me.

I hate Kenneth Branagh's ego.

Belgian. But I get it. I don’t like his Poirot either. His ego is why I think his upcoming Lear has possibilities.
