I did a load of laundry this morning. I’d planned to wash the towels, but want hot water for them. They’ll wait. I washed clothes instead, which I usually wash in cold water anyway.

[Jane]

You may have a cat.

Or plants.

But not both.       

We have had both but it can definately be a challenge.  Now we have neither.

For the two years Craig was in the Peace Corp he did not have hot water.

[Jeanne]

As for my hair, I can heat up some water on the stove, then wash my hair over the kitchen sink. Or I can wait until Monday evening, when we’ll hopefully have hot water again.  As it happens, I have a hair appointment scheduled for Wednesday.

No hot water in Italy sounds even more surprising than Craig not having it in Romania.

The next time I needed to wash my hair I sought out a local hair salon. The hairdresser didn’t speak much English and I spoke even less Italian, but we communicated well enough.

[Jeanne]

That said, I’ve often wished I could find a decent dry shampoo. I’ve tried a couple. The last one made my hair feel worse. I even mentioned it to my hairdresser, who’s been in the business a loonnng time, hoping he’d devise one. No such luck.

Jrand, how did you spend Thanksgiving, since you’re not a celebratory sort of person?

There wasn't any hot water in the hospital where Craig was born.  I refused to shower.  Finally they found me a shower down the hall from my room that had hot water.

Must resume my cleaning. 🧹

I should as well.  I just put my last load of laundry for the day into the dryer.

No hot water at the hospital? Not good! Where was this?

I have a couple of dry shampoos I occasionally use.  They just soften my hair more than making it feel clean.

[Jane]

In the hospital after my shoulder surgery they gave me a rinse free shampoo cap to clean my hair.  I would rather have used a dry shampoo.

Still doing research on the play I plan to start in the next couple of days.

Watching The Shop Around the Corner. It was slightly irritating in the beginning, but I have warmed to its many charms.

Oooo, I should watch that.  I audition She Loves Me next week!

I can do two at a time.  One of the benefits (and not benefits) of apartment dwelling.
