In the mid-1970s, I had a warehouse-store job about 10 minutes drive from my parents' house, so I drove home every day for lunch. Depending on whether my lunch hour was noon or 1:00, I would watch All My Children, Ryan's Hope or One Life To Live with my mother. The greatest episode of One Life to Live was the day that Judith Light, playing Karen Wolek, broke down in court revealing her past as a prostitute and her participation in a driving accident that killed her best friend's child.

Then I would go back to work and tell the girls in the office what happened that day.
