It's after noon, and I'm still in breakfast mode.

Late July, early August of '84 I suffered a bad sprain in my ankle.  Fortunately it was summer and I didn't have to get the boys off to school.  Since the stairs were difficult I spent much of the morning on my bed.  Santa Barbara had just begun and I watched it.  I liked Laine Davies.

By the time school began again I was over the soap and back to my usual routine of morning walks.  Bryan always thought I liked watching soaps because of my being trapped in bed and bored ;D

It is 45 degrees here.  Too cold in my opinion for the shorts I am wearing.  I wish I liked wearing long pants to the gym.

I do believe it's been a long time since I appreciated a sunny and dry commute as much as I did this morning.

vixmom, that looks wonderful. You said the eggs were steamed. Do you do that by putting a lid over the frying pan, or some other way entirely?

DR George I recall a problem a number of years back where many of us had to reset the clock here.  I don't remember how we did it.

I think each person can change the zero that's in the Time Offset option under MODIFY PROFILE > Look and Layout, but that's probably mostly to update for Daylight Saving Time.  I wouldn't know how to figure what to put there to adjust for four minutes. :-\

A couple of weeks before we were married I left my job.  That first month of June in 1969, before finding a new job, I watched a soap opera for awhile.  I was bored out of my mind and stopped.  About a year later a friend, along with her friend, crashed with us for awhile.  The friend watched the same soap and I was shocked that very little in the story had changed from the month when I watched it.

My mom stopped watching a soap and when she picked it up again, not much had changed after three years! :o

SOAPS

Only one for me, to the best of my recall, and this is ancient:  Young Dr. Malone, on weekday afternoons in the 1960-1961 time frame. It had been my mom's show for a long time, and I guess it was on when I got home from school, or it was summer vacation, but for some reason I watched an episode or two with her and got hooked. That probably didn't last much beyond a year or so because I was out of 6th grade then, we were moving to a different house, and I was on to junior high school and new activities. But I remember it rather fondly.

Years later in the mid-1970s, my mom and dad went out to L.A. to visit me. She was so enamored of General Hospital then, that she wrote to the studio in advance of that trip, and the three of us went over to the ABC studios in Hollywood and were treated to quite a long visit with the cast and crew, including watching an episode being taped, sitting next to the director in the control room. It was one of their favorite trip memories.

That's exactly the way.

I use a good heavy nonstick pan, melt the tiniest amount of butter and drop the eggs in the melted butter and immediately cover with a glass cover ( so I can see what's going on in that there pan).

As soon as the white is cooked over the yolks (but the yolk is still runny) I slide them out onto the prepared toast.

It took.a looooooong time to learn to time as  it out right so the toast was still warm, but prepared the moment the eggs are perfect.

I remember watching Dark Shadows after school (4 pm!) .

As I recall all the girls in my class agreed David Selby was dreamy.

Yes DR FREDDIE as DR VIXMOM points out - Dark Shadows was on at the END of the daytime schedule.

I remember it at 3:30 p.m.

I also remember reading that the cast never really got the opportunity to watch themselves - because the Dark Shadows time frame to use the ABC Tape Bank was from 3:15 p.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

So unless they happened to have a day off, they couldn't watch the show.

I had a couple of Daily schedules for the show [EBAY was so much fun].....they would come in at 10 a.m. and do a run thru of the show and camera blocking, lunch, makeup & hair and Costumes, and then tape the show.

And then at 4:30 p.m. there would be a reading for the show for the next day with maybe a bit of blocking.

And ABC built them their own studio at 433 West 54th St. It was scheduled for demolition - but not sure if that happened.

The Wendy Williams show was taped there when it was happening.

I think 70% of the cast now has Covid. Doug doesn't, I don't think I do but I wouldn't know for sure because a) I have no tests here, and b) I wouldn't even know how they work. My symptoms are allergy symptoms. Doesn't even feel like a cold, frankly. I have never lost my sense of taste or smell or anything like that. The good news is, everyone who has tested positive (if one even believes that stuff) has either very mild symptoms or zero symptoms. I'm not seeing anyone until Sunday, which is seven days after everyone tested positive.
