MR BK you can get 4 free Covid 19 test kits by entering your info at this link.

Even if you don't need them now, they might be handy to have around as the season goes on.

They come with instructions.

A couple of weeks before we were married I left my job.  That first month of June in 1969, before finding a new job, I watched a soap opera for awhile.  I was bored out of my mind and stopped.  About a year later a friend, along with her friend, crashed with us for awhile.  The friend watched the same soap and I was shocked that very little in the story had changed from the month when I watched it.

My mom stopped watching a soap and when she picked it up again, not much had changed after three years! :o

SOAPS

Only one for me, to the best of my recall, and this is ancient:  Young Dr. Malone, on weekday afternoons in the 1960-1961 time frame. It had been my mom's show for a long time, and I guess it was on when I got home from school, or it was summer vacation, but for some reason I watched an episode or two with her and got hooked. That probably didn't last much beyond a year or so because I was out of 6th grade then, we were moving to a different house, and I was on to junior high school and new activities. But I remember it rather fondly.

Years later in the mid-1970s, my mom and dad went out to L.A. to visit me. She was so enamored of General Hospital then, that she wrote to the studio in advance of that trip, and the three of us went over to the ABC studios in Hollywood and were treated to quite a long visit with the cast and crew, including watching an episode being taped, sitting next to the director in the control room. It was one of their favorite trip memories.

That is a sweet and very special memory.

I agree, and not everyone loses their sense of taste and/or smell.

That's wonderful!

So good that your mom thought to write them that letter.

I never did, but I didn't get Covid until after I had been vaccinated.

It was the thing, and it still happens.  It does not always happen and you can't go by that alone.

Good.  I'm not sure you will have them in time to test before your party.

I had older siblings off at school and spent many a day of early childhood watching soaps with mom. Young & the Restless when Hasselhoff was in there…
Then we went full ABC: Ryan’s Hope, All My Children, One Life to Live, General Hospital. That ABC lineup was dynamite into the ‘80s. Later, Loving replaced Ryan’s Hope.

After school in high school I got hooked on Guiding Light and Santa Barbara.

So I def put in my time on soaps. Judith Light was indeed brilliant on One Life… and the actor who played her foil, Marco Dane, also great. Unfortunately killed himself in real life. Lane Davies was also great. Some people really excelled in that world of acting. Some got stuck in it. Some moved on to greatness.

Last episode in this disc of Alfred Hitchcock Presents. I may or may not watch the last two discs of season one. That season had 39 episodes!
