I think you should make sure there is ice cream in your freezer to get you through the long weekend.

Thank you, and a sound plan, indeed.

And I repeat my recommendation about the mashed potatoes.  You can buy those packs of instant what taste really good...and they have different flavors so you don't get too bored with them.

At any rate, that is how i have gotten through phases of eating only squishy foods.

Or bake a potato, mash the inside with butter and add some milk.

The New Christy Minstrels have 2 good Christmas albums. The first features a young Gene Clark, later of the Byrds.

Back from church. We distributed 132 meals today, but the line was so long that we gave out dozens more. Thankfully we had food.

Back from an omelet at Coral Cafe. First stopped at CVS for more Claritin-D. Of course, they were out of the twenty-four hour kind, and I'm afraid I let them have it because they're the ONLY CVS who never has it. I got the twelve-hour kind for now. But annoying. He said everyone buys up the twenty-four hour version. They can't buy it in multiples, just one at a time. Of course, I think we all know that people who read the notes go right over there to buy all of them. I suggested they order more.

I do think whatever it is I had is on the way out. Not coughing as much, breathing a bit easier, and while I'm blowing my nose quite a bit, it's just all the guck trying to get out of me.

Damn it to HELL.  I've just been reminded that if I want to see Maestro in the theeder, I've got only through Saturday to get to the Bedford Playhouse for it. It's been literally impossible since it opened on the 8th, and I don't want to pass up the chance to see it there. I do believe I can just pull off making either a tomorrow afternoon or Saturday afternoon showing.

But on a happier note (C-natural):

Statue of Henrietta Lacks to replace Robert E. Lee monument in Roanoke, Virginia

The Roanoke native died of cancer in 1951, but her cells lived on and helped lead to groundbreaking medical treatments.

This article was published last year, but it's still a more uplifting article than the previous one.

On This Day in 1898, having recently discovered polonium, future Nobel Prize winners Marie and Pierre Curie discovered the radioactive chemical element radium, which has become a treatment for cancer.

I never understand why stores don't stock more of the items that quickly sell out.
