Sadly, IMO, it is more interesting visually than it is aurally.

Should I go for dim sum at Yan’s Garden in British Columbia? It’s owned and operated by Yan of PBS’s “Yan Can Cook” fame. Would have to convince the family.

It looks good.  I tried reading the menu but the print was too difficult for me.  Will the kids eat edamame if it is an option?

i actually like the film of Sweeney Todd quite a bit. It may not be the film I would have made, but Steve had told me  how much he wanted to evoke Hammer Films as well as Hangover Square and Bernard Herrmann's piano concerto in the film. I think the film works quite well.

Boxing Day to Canadians is their Black Friday (although they now partake in US version of that as well). It’s odd to me to go shopping the day after Christmas. No way.

In Pennsylvania there was a wonderful store with a little pharmacy in the back and a beauitufl gift shop in the rest of the store.  It is where I purchased my Christmas cards and many decorations.

The year my friend said she was picking me up early on the 26th to be at the store when they opened I balked.  She insisted.  Everything Christmas was basically half off.  Because we had our children with us they waited in the very long check-out line while we shopped.  We knew the shop well, and were able to quickly find the items we wanted.

Two years in a row I was able to buy beautiful Christmas cards and save them until Christmas.  I still have the beautiful angel tree topper I purchased, though sadly it is packed away where I can't get to it.

The kids actually had fun waiting in line since they were a group.

Me too.

I met him years ago when he came to San Antonio. He was more interested in places to continue drinking than anything else.

Ron Pulliam, with whom I once shared dim sum in Oakland, is a good person to ask.

Absolutely you should go for dim sum.  If I lived any closer to you, I'd stop by and pick you up on my way over there.

And the fun we’d have! Unfortunately I’m saddled with two very unadventurous eaters, my kids.

They won’t like the chicken feet. I can almost guarantee that.

They probably won’t care for the tripe either.

We received three, though one belonged next door and was dropped in our box by mistake.
