Fried up some leftover mashed in butter  until hot  bubbling ( and squeaking 😄) then made a little nest and dropped in an egg .

Sprinkled with a little Sunny Paris, then covered until the egg was cooked to perfection.

It's another gray day here in Johnston SC.  It's the fourth consecutive day like this.  I have to say it's a bit miserable.

I feel a bit sorry for Alex Poots, artistic director of the Shed.

According to the internet, "The origin and meaning of the word "poot" is unclear. It is a German surname that comes from the Middle Low German word "pot," meaning "a pot". It is also a Dutch and Flemish nickname from Middle Dutch "pote," meaning "leg paw foot claw". The word "pôte" in Middle Dutch means "limb, claw". It is also a Mayan name from a term denoting a kind of spider."

Yet the slang definition is something quite different:  "A fart, perhaps a relatively quiet one."

Yes, it's a bit childish to bring it up, but imagine the torment that must have accompanied the childhood of anyone bearing that name...at least here in the U.S.

It was hard enough growing up being named "Pulliam".   It isn't an easy name for people to pronounce, and I hear "Pullum", "Pullman", "Pull...??" all the time.

I pronounce it correctlly for those folks and tell them it's just like "William"...only you "Pull" instead of "Will".

As a kid, I was called "Pullet" by some kids.  I didn't mind, but it was always puzzling why they couldn't just call me "Ron".

I looked it up.  Wow!  Penzey has quite the history as a left-wing radical.  Gosh!
