I was surprised, however, it was Freddie that actually asked the question.  Two different banks does solve the mystery. 

If deposits are always that long a process, I would prefer to deposit them by scanning them on my smartphone into my online account with the bank.  It takes minutes.

Ah.  I am guessing he didn't want to deposit the check he cashed first without taking some cash from it before depositiing the remainder.

My boss asked me if I would do him a favor and drive out to the county clerk to “ walk on” a recording

The Clerks office is about 50 miles away

The day was sunny, the roads were relatively traffic free and there was no line at the recorders office either at security or at the clerks window

My business was done by a friendly woman and I was done within about 20 minutes, and headed back with the certified copy which made my boss very happy

It was a nice relaxing 2 .5 hours out of the office AND I got an Attaboy which are always nice to have

I had a nice visit with WFO after work

I stayed home all day long.

That is a very large county to have the clerk's office so very far from where you work.
