Whoa.

RIP Glynis Johns, 100

I just saw that. :( But 100...a good, long ride.

Great illustration, Larry. Could see my kids liking that book. And me as well.

I hadn’t congratulated you yet, JRand. Consider yourself congratulated now though.

Fortunately, no sn*w for the foreseeable future.

The lowest it's expected to get around these parts is 34°F, and that's not until the weekend.

Whoa.

RIP Glynis Johns, 100

I thought she had died weeks ago! I always loved her. It was a thrill to see her in A Little Night Music.

There had been coverage of her career when she turned 100 about three months ago.

I remember the GLYNIS television series from 1963 from Desilu that featured Lucille Ball's boyfriend Keith Andes.

They were sort of a Nick/Nora couple.....but what I remember most was the 1963 Thunderbird that they drove.

DR Elmore, I'm late in getting to it, but I just did a quick spot check of the Irving/NYC Ballet Nutcracker tape, and it sounds really nice. And what a pleasure, spot checking a reel to reel tape for a change, as opposed to an LP.

I'd also been curious as to what a Kapp classical recording sounds like, because I'm pretty sure I've never had one. Could that be? Maybe I'm wrong. But now I can leave thanks and feedback for the seller, then later I'll listen properly to the whole thing straight through on the Big Speakers.

Edit:  While following the score. Absolutely.

Which was better? Glynis’ singing voice or her speaking voice?

Tonight I am going to watch A PLACE IN THE SUN on TCM.......Montgomery Clift, Elizabeth Taylor, and Shelley Winters and Anne Revere....all directed by George Stevens.

I never tire of this movie.....it is wonderful.....

Taylor is the only actress to star opposite Clift and James Dean (both films directed by Stevens).....a joy from beginning to end....and still a wonderful primer for actors and directors today.....

I’m watching the Sweeney Todd concert with Patti LuPone and George Hearn. Haven’t seen it in years.

I know Elmore’s favorite is playing the Beggar Woman.
