Watching Werner Herzog’s My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done. It’s based on a true story. A son kills his mother after she serves him Jello. It’s not the only reason but it’s as good as any.

Great cast: Michael Shannon, Chloe Sevigny, Willem Dafoe, Grace Zabriske (as the mother, of course), Loretta Devine, Irma Hall, Brad Dourif, Udo Kier, Michael Pena, more.

I prefer real pumpkin to canned, which is squash. The flavor is different.

So do I.  I don't think I have had canned pumpkin soup, called squash if not made with a pumpkin ;)

Here’s the recipe.

That recipe is great.  It almost makes me want to cook again.

All canned pumpkin is actually squash.

There was no need to add cream or milk.

I was making this up. But it exists, albeit with unflavored, not orange, gelatin

It's not lime jello, is it?

It was dark. Maybe grape or blackberry.

True, but I think of pumpkins as the traditional shape vs other varieties of squash.  I suppose one could say pumpkin squash just has I say hubbard squash vs hubbard ;)

Yet it probably tasted as if cream had been added.

I woke up in the middle of the night with the pinkie on my left hand hurting like hell. I think I must have sprained it in my sleep.

Oh, no!

I am ready to go.....but I don't have to leave for about two hours, so I am on the internet.

Vibes for your readings!

Hope it went well!

So, I had a telephonic conversation booked for 10:00. At 9:30, I got an email that they were running errands because of the predicted storm. I sat at the computer until 11:30 waiting for them to call. I just sent an email trying to be civil but saying I had other thngs to do than wait around for a call so let's try for tomorrow at 10:00. I deleted my comment that I had wasted enough time waiting and why didn't they let meknow last night?

Just pisses me off.

How rude! >:(

DR Rodzinski, the version of Muppet Christmas Carol I watched yesterday did not have the Love Is Gone in the right spot, only in the credits. The first time I saw the movie it was in there. And yes, it’s needed.

Just like Winter Was Warm is needed in Magoo’s Christmas Carol.

That’s right, they cut the song but because they’d thought enough if it to have some country singer record it for radio, they still include it in the credits where it’s completely out of place!

That's just weird. :-\

I can't imagine a cat taking five days to discover that a new cat is in the house.  There is a short clip of the cat reacting to finding the new cat.

Mary Berry is on PBS this afternoon. I really love her. Physically, she reminds me of my - and DR Ginny's - late friend Loyce Martin.
