Starting Daisy Miller. Not a great film, but I enjoy it. And yes, I think Cybill Shepherd is quite good in it.

Happy that Paul Giamatti and Da’Vine Joyce Randolph (pronounced DAY-vine, I’m told) won Golden Globes for The Holdovers.

I think one thing that doesn’t work in Daisy Miller is the handheld camera, especially at the end. It just looks amateurish. And for every shot that’s set up right, there are others that are truly ugly.

This was some sort of zombie Golden Globes. JRand is right. The Hollywood Foreign Press disbanded. Who is even selecting the winners?

And some of the talent was still thanking the non-existent foreign press corps!

Da’Vine Joy Randolph not to be confused with the devine Joyce Randolph, who turns 100 next October.

Making Ricky Gervais' faux-edgy stand-up look sharp and Jerrod Carmichael's confessional comedy look extra extraordinary, Koy's opening monologue at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards was nothing short of a catastrophe. Jokes that aspired to cutting satire could barely hold a butter knife - throwing shade at Old Dad Robert De Niro? - and the many others that played it safe were first-thought gags, at best....

I watched a clip and it was too uncomfortable to see a guy dying on stage like that. Cringe City.
