Today, we were supposed to have the paper tech at 11:00 am for TAO's next show, Poe Nocturne, an evening of Poe adaptations and monologues.

It was a bit of a time-travel affair, over the heads of its audience.

Evidently, the lighting guy wasn't going to show up until later, so pug (the director) said that I could come back at 12:30 or so.

I hung out at the mall and came back around 12:15 and everyone was pretty much there except for the actors.

So, we didn't do a paper tech, we just started at the beginning and went through the show with the lighting designer actually creating and adjusting some lights as we went along.

He'll add the cues to the scripts and I'll have a go running the light board starting tomorrow.

Once I was wandering in the West Village and the movie theater there had a Rick Springfield documentary. A sign said Rick would be there for a Q&A afterwards. I thought, this could be a hoot. Not many people seemed to be in line. I sat through this hagiography with maybe six other people, trying to think what the hell I’d ask Rick Springfield, but ol’ Rick must’ve peeked out and seen how few people were there and took off into the night.

It'll be pretty easy running the board.

I'll have to check out the winners, but the Golden Globes have always been about who gets the most swag from the studios. I don't know why they even bother anymore.

It's mostly just lights up and down, but there will be a few other cues.  I'll learn about them tomorrow.
