Sorry about the tree-fall, Chas. But it’s great to have a contractor you can trust. This is the first house I’ve had that has no trees within striking distance.

That's one convenient thing about my condo, too...no close trees.

Memorial service was nice. Jim and Shirley had been married for 70 years. She died last September. He died in December.

Wow...married for 70 years.  That's amazing!

I'm thinking it really is high time for darling George to write his Kritzer World review.

I'm working on it...slowly.

Here’s the cranberry sauce pie. It was a hit. Every person who took a small slice returned for seconds.

That looks good, John.  Congrats on the successful pie!

Watching another movie from my childhood: Walkabout. It’s as great as ever. Seems t have had an influence on Terence Malick.

The issue from the Critics Choice awards of the Best Song presenters naming Jack Black, Ariana DeBose and Ryan Gosling as "actors who think they can sing" seems to have gone mega-viral.

Here's the New York Post story on this.

Oh, my. :o You'd think the writers would know who they're joking about before making those kinds of jokes!

"Dondi" was my favorite comic strip.  When I went away to camp my parents mailed the strips to me.

I remember for a short while while I was in high school, there was a daily Star Wars comic.  I read it and then it just disappeared. :-\ I don't remember if it was cancelled or if it actually ended.

Remember the other day when I said it was in the 50’s?

It’s snowing.

 :o
It was a crazy morning and I never had time to do my weather check in Maryland.

When I left my house about a half hour ago to go to Subway, it was 37°F.  When I got to Subway (it only took about three minutes to get there), it was down to 28°F!

There was a Spider-Man too. Supposedly Stan Lee wrote that one himself.

Here it is, Singdaw:

Very easy.

Thanks for the link.  I don't know when (or if) I'll make it, but at least I'll have the recipe bookmarked. :)

Walkabout could never be made today. Jennie Agutter was only 16 when the movie was made. Though her nude scenes are innocent, they just wouldn’t be happening now.

Two units had a good amount of damage, one more than the other.  We helped another neighbor clean up water.  I don't know who else had damage but have been told there were five units damaged.

Oh, no! 😱

Scammers sent out a legitimate looking text to people in Portland yesterday saying PGE would not be fixing the power outages for 10 days as they needed to get transformers from Texas.

I don't understand why people do this.  Of course PGE and to take the time, in the middle of trying to fix the power outages, to let people know it wasn't true.

Most of all I feel bad for people who believed it.

Yikes!  And why would they (pretend to) get them from Texas when Texas had people die from the cold because their politicians didn't want to help their constituents‽‽

My sister's boyfriend loves that movie.  Long before it was released in the US, he bought an Australian (Region 4?) DVD and I think it was why he bought a region-code-free player.
