I noticed our gym opened at noon.  We still don't have plans to go outside today.

Last night, I treated myself to a new series:  "True Detective, Night Country" starring Jodie Foster.

It promises to be quite something.  I enjoyed the first episode a lot, although I have some reservations about where it might go.  But, until it actually gets there, I'm going to keep watching.

We haven't watched the second episode yet.  I keep forgetting about it.

It won't drop until Sunday.

Thanks.  I guess that is why we haven't watched it ;D

Good Morning.  It's Wednesday, the "day off".  I've accomplished nothing except watching a few version of the first scene of She Loves Me which we'll be learning and staging this evening.  The weather is clear today, and should be for a few days.  The boys are sleeping, which is what they do best.

And while we're on the Hoosier pipeline...who recalls that Dan Quayle is related to Eugene C. Pulliam, former owner of a major mid-western publishing empire?

And although I am loath to make such a connection, I will say his connection is by marriage and that there is a long line of begats between my side of the Pulliams and Eugene's.

Interesting, and I had not made the connection.  In fact, I rarely think of Quayle.

I have two reasons to remember him at all:

He defeated incumbent Democrat Birch Bayh for a U.S. Senate seat in 1980.

He added an "e" to "potato" on a schoolroom chalk board that basically labelled him as a "doofus" VP.

It’s 42 here today. 27 schools in San Antonio couldn’t open today because of frozen pipes or power outage.

Thanks, everyone! Just heard that mom made it through the surgery just fine and is now in recovery, awaiting assignment to a room.

They are planning to start physical therapy this afternoon (!) and will determine if she can go home Thursday or Friday, which was expected.

Glad to hear such good news!

The second one was funny.  As much as I didn't like him he is looking good compared to choices today.

A number of Portland schools had been closed to power outages.  Frozen pipes are worst.  I'm glad you didn't lose power.

Wednesday afternoon greetings!  It is, indeed, our 43rd wedding anniversary and we gave each other negative Covid test results as tokens of our love.
