Glad to hear that Singdaw’s mother’s surgery went well and she is now home.

Also that Sing himself (spellcheck wants me to replace that with “hi self”. Oy!) has almost fully recovered from his own procedure.

Speaking of dreams, I seldom remember mine, but last night’s was a doozy. I was spending the evening with Jeff Bezos!! I was living in a small, Old-Towny house and for some reason, which made perfect sense in the dream, I had dressed as a chimney sweep!

Roundabouts are a safer alternative to traffic signals and stop signs. The tight circle of a roundabout forces drivers to slow down, and the most severe types of intersection crashes — right-angle, left-turn and head-on collisions — are unlikely. Roundabouts improve traffic flow and are better for the environment.

So sayeth the highway service.

And they’re easy.
Look to your left. Anyone coming?
If yes, wait.
If no, go!

I am fine with small ones.  It is the larger ones that can be scary.  I think that street signs should be extra large so drivers can be sure they are exiting on the correct street.

I think all street signs should be larger to make it easier to read them, but especially on roundabouts.

"Futzing and finessing and fettuccine" could be the title of something.

Does anyone you know have an audition coming up for a Dick Van Dyke jukebox musical?

Bruce, don’t rush your writing. This is an important book. Make it complete.

I am not a fan of roundabouts. DC has many of them and I always found them treacherous. In DC, there are many people who don’t know where they’re going — tourists, business travelers, me — and often need to make sudden lane changes. Difficult in heavy traffic. Far more traffic in DC than these roads were intended to carry. In light traffic with drivers familiar with the area, fine.

Uh, no. I’m pretty sure Dick Van Dyke’s costume wouldn’t fit me, either. (BTW, he and I used to go to the same dentist. I’d run into him there.)
