Well, you've read the notes, you've taken the Oscar bait, and now it is time for you to post until the snubbed cows come home.

In Carlsbad for the night after a snappy day at Legoland. It makes all the difference to be at a fun park that is not crowded. We walked right on to every ride the kids (or I) wanted to. A well-run place. Pleasant employees. The kids had a blast. I won my daughter a giant panda by accident, so we’ll see how that fits in the luggage tomorrow.

We arrived Monday at the San Diego airport just after the downpour had subsided. Today was sunny and like 62 degrees.

That's great, Rod!  And congrats on the panda win!  Would it be possible (and if you had the time) to mail it home?

He’s not like 5 feet tall, just like 2 feet. And soft. Might be able to scrunch him in a bag.

So, Poe Nocturne ended this past weekend and pug (the director) gave everyone an original abstract illustration that she made.  Here's mine! :D

When she directed a show at Tacoma Little Theatre in 2022, she had a lot of her work for sale in their lobby.  I bought this piece called, "All Dragons Love Sondheim"...mainly because of the name:

The best fried chicken I ever had, and I have said this consistently for years, was made by Skip Kennon for an HHW gathering many moons ago.

I did not visit BK’s ex wife in Carlsbad, but we had a great meal there downtown on Monday night at a place called Campfire.

Why??  I don't know (this is in reference to the name of the second pug painting I posted, not Rod's comment).

;D

What's funny is that she signed the Sondheim painting as "p. Bujeaud," and the Peter Max painting as "C. Bujeaud" (her real name is Charlene).  I asked her about that and I don't think she had a reason.

In December 2021 (I only know because of the cancelled stamp), pug sent out hand painted Christmas cards, and this was mine:

But the very first one I ever got from her was also a closing night thank you gift for being in a show (but I forget which one ::) ):

As you can tell, most (but not all) of her work is quite abstract, but I really like them. :)
