I've been back from the second surgery for a few hours, eating donuts and napping.

The vision in that eye is starting to clear, but they really dilate the eye, so between that and the rest of what it's been through, you don't generally get a shot of your new clear vision till the next morning. But I can begin to see the signs of that upcoming clarity.

I also think it might be time for another donut.

Continued great recovery vibes!

BACK - from Wilton Surgery Center.

Just eating donuts and napping.

I don't know why my surgeon wanted a six-month wait between eyes. I think it's great your eyes were done in such a narrow space of time.

DR George, Pug has a wonderful sense of color and design. I don't understand them, but I do admire them.

One of the things that distracted me today was my desire to finish binge-watching “Spinning Out,” a cheesy 10-episode series on Netflix.  It’s set in the figure skating community in Sun Valley, Idaho.  That’s 7.5 hours of my life I’ll never get back.

SIX MONTHS!  I hadn't remembered it being that long.  Given the disparity between the two eyes during that in-between time, I believe I would have lost my mind.

I've been watching the 1980s BBC Miss Marple series with Joan Hickson.  I've seen three now: A Murder is Announced, The Moving Finger, and The Body in the Library.

In The Body in the Library actor Frederick Jaeger played Colonel Machete; he is on the original cast recording of Lock Up Your Daughters. Actor John Castle, who plays DCI Craddock in A Murder is Announced, appeared on Broadway in the flop musical Georgy in the part Alan Bates played in Georgy Girl. I kept hoping they would sing.

DR ChasSmith, congratulations on the completion of your second surgery!  I remember the two weeks of mismatched eyes being quite unpleasant.

Yes, more donuts!  Richard and I consumed 2 boxes of Entenmann’s donuts when we had Covid.  They were buy one/get one when he dashed to Kroger for the medication I needed for my allergic reaction to the Paxlovid alternative.

Had a nice breakfast at the Coral Cafe, went to Gelson's briefly and am home now and just got the Muse Margaret call. She was laughing when she called and said her favorite things were the final two chapters. Anyway, she loved everything except what I knew she'd want gone and which I'd already marked for those cuts - and her cuts were exactly the same as mine and I'd already bracketed all that and so it was really simple to delete.
