I just learned that Betty Auman, who was in charge of acquisitions for the Music Division of the Library of Congress, when I met her in 1987, has died. She was a dear friend until our friendship fell apart in 2010 in a disastrous concert and recording debacle of Life Begins at 8:40 and her failure to replace an incompetent conductor. At the moment my emotions are all over the place, remembering both the great times in London and the various concerts at the Library of Congress and the frustrations, betrayals, and ugliness after 2010.

Oh, how sad. And how complicated. That almost makes it worse. Very sorry.

I was woken this morning by being presented with a hot cup of tea and a warm Krispy Kreme glazed donut .

Did he sneak out this morning and buy the donuts?  Are glazed your favorite?

Yes and yes

:) :)

My friend Carol worked with Chita for quite a while during the national tour of Sweet Charity.

I only got to see her live once, opening night of the national tour of Kiss of the Spider Woman. She could move. So beautiful in motion.

Thank you to DRs ChasSmith, Singdaw, Elmore, John G, George, and Jane.  While all of your kind words were pouring in I was sound asleep.

So I was to be spending the day with the Vixter

I was so hoping this was going to mean SHE was unavailable…

Today is the birthday - number 70 - of my closest in age sister Paula.

She was born when I was three years and five months old.

I we were so excited when she came home and so happy -- until she starting crying EVERY night ALL night....ALL THE TIME.....

Chicago was the first thing I saw her in, on tour in L.A.

Kiss of the Spider Woman was my Chita pinnacle. Saw her in it on her last night before the cast change.

I never got to see her live.  I did get to see a national tour of Kiss of the Spider Woman, but it's just not the same. ::)

Mmm...egg salad. ;D I need to make some.  My mom gave me some hard boiled eggs and I don't want them to go to waste.
