I slept well most of the night. There was a period from 3:00 to around 4:30 where I could not get my legs comfortable and Annabelle and Thatch wanted me out of the way so the bed could be theirs.

Yes! When I was growing up in the 1950s and early 60s, our subdivision was loaded with insects, from grasshoppers and crickets to fireflies and praying mantises. Every night in summer we would watch the bats swooping around the corner streetlight for moths and other flying insects. I haven't seen any of that in the past 40 years.
