DR VIXMOM yesterday as I was going to WalMart, a green van pulled up to a stop sign.  It was on the street where I was turning right.

As I passed it, I looked the driver.  She looked just like YOU - the same glasses and hairstyle as your avatar!  I slowed down as I turned and we nodded to each other.

When I looked in the rear view mirror, the van was gone.  If a cream colored PT Cruiser drove by you slowly yesterday, we obviously went through the portal.

I am always being left out!

I had a wonderful night's sleep and did not get sick at all!

Of course, that means that if we all lived together, I'd be the one cleaning up the mess, taking temperatures, spoon-feeding you soup or broth and fluffing your pillows.

As delightfully dreary as that sounds, NO THANKS!

I watched a motion picture last night that is up for some Oscars!

That movie is "The Holdovers".  Paul Giamatti is a delight as is Da Vine Joy Randolph.

Will they win the Oscars?  They could.  I will say that Giamatti has a chance, but I haven't yet seen "Maestro" and "Oppenheimer", both of which are on this weekend's "to watch" agenda.

I can say, without any apology, that I think Barry Keoghan's performance in "Saltburn" was woefully overlooked by the Academy.

His youth may be in his way, but my gosh the man is gifted as an actor.

I loved Randolph's "Mary", but Rosamund Pike's "Elspeth" was equally worthy of a nomination.

I think I'll add "Nyad" to my agenda this weekend, as well.

I did not venture into Aiken yesterday.

I may do it today, although I may not.

I am out of ice cream.

That is NEVER a good thing.

Ah-HAH!

I have just remembered the "other" thing that will take me to Aiken...and today.

Yesterday, I was craving a deli-style "hot pastrami sandwich".

Only Johnston isn't the hub of anything more exotic than hamburgers and an occasional pimiento cheese on toast.

Googling, I found a deli on University Parkway in Aiken, plus there is a Jimmy John's next door to The Fresh Market.

I have never been to either the deli or Jimmy John's.  I will investigate before I venture out.

Sad news about Ozawa. Got to see him conduct a number of times.always good.

I love that he and Bernstein spent considerable energy on mentoring young up-and-coming conductors.

Bernstein spent a lot of energy on young conductors.

LOL! And some of them, like John Mauceri, continue the trend.

HA!  Many folks wanted to work under him.

My comment was snarky. I know too much about the aforementioned.

My fingers have walked.  Jimmy John's is an alternative to Subway.  We HAVE a Subway in Edgefield, but don't want a sub.

But..GROUCHO's DELI is in Aiken and a stone's throw from Sam's Club.

Oh, Joy!  Oh, Rapture!

And they had pictures of their sammiches.  I'm going to be torn.  I love Reubens, and theirs looks as yummy as their pastrami.

I may get both and have one for tomorow!!

I realized I cannot schedule an Access-a-Ride trip to Verizon on Sunday morning to buy a new cell phone since AAR cannot contact me on my old cell phone. Taxi it is!

I had a terrible night. Around 2:30 I woke, feeling queasy, and headed to the bathroom where I was violently sick. I had terrible cramps on the left side of my body. I went back to bed around 3:15, only to crawl back to the bathroom about 10 minutes later where I had dry heaves for the next3o minutes. I finally decided that I'd rather be found dead in my bed than on the toilet and went back to bed. Since my cell phone is now officially dead, I turned on my laptop and saw t was just past 4:00. My abdomen feels as if someone gave he several hard kicks, and I will take it easy today.

Oh, no! :o
