I must not have been FB friends with DR Jrand73 on the old account, because there was no way to unfriend the account last night.

I just tried reporting again, and - guess what? The system won't pass through my report on the old account name, apparently because I'm not "friends" with it.

DR Jrand when I changed my password today I received an email from Facebook stating it was changed and an option to click on if it wasn't me.  Did you receive an email about your password being changed?  If not maybe it is in your emails and you missed it.

Here's what I don't understand --

When these people steal someone's account like that, what is their purpose?

Do they think it might ultimately lead to being able to steal $ from the person? Is it just for "fun", for their own sick amusement? What am I not getting here?
