Our event was somehow publicized, and we had about 30 people, instead of the usual 12 or so. I was worried there weren't enough snacks, but they ate everything except four cookies. I hope the minister shares them with his children tomorrow.

I didn't even lick the spoon today. Or my fingers, when I got frosting on them. I am the messiest frosting piper ever. It ends up everywhere.

I decided that I will take a 15-minute break from my diet next week, after my next blood donation. I shall eat salty snacks with alacrity.

Performance #3 is done. Now we have one more matinee tomorrow. Then it's 8 months until the next opera, as the theater is closed for a much-needed seat replacement when we usually do the spring show. What will I do? I sing in another chorus, but those gigs are special projects and the next program isn't until September.

It wasn’t a world premiere, but Michael Ippolito’s Nocturne was special because the composer was in the audience. He lives up the road in San Marcos.

The music was inspired by Miro’s Nocturne.

Corigliano’s Fern Hill was also performed. Interesting choral piece. Mussorgsky’s piece was fun. The audience, surprisingly large, was most appreciative.

Church’s started here in San Antonio. Never liked it. Flabby, not crispy. They apparently have a new hot sauce on the market that’s said to be really good.

Last performance vibes.

I’m no longer a fan of Sonic. Something about their onions upsets my stomach every time I have a burger there. I do like their tater tots.

The Simpsons summed up my feelings on Arby’s. In their spoof of Lord of the Flies, one of the deserted kids says, “I’m so hungry I could almost eat Arby’s.”

This was followed by a chorus of “eew.”

Hardee’s didn’t last long in San Antonio. I liked their lettuce-wrapped burger, but I would have to make sure I ordered it without ketchup (sugar) and sweet pickles (more sugar).  If you’re offering a low-carb burger, why add carbs?

I tried Bush’s Chicken and Cane’s once. Don’t need to make either mistake again.
